Navigating Disruption: Generative AI in the Workplace Specialization

Navigating Disruption: Generative AI in the Workplace is a Coursera course developed by Professor Josh Pasek (Communication and Media) in partnership with the Center for Academic Innovation. I engaged with the project over several weeks as an emerging designer, observing the final phases of development and participating in reflective sessions with my LXD mentor. The course presents foundational concepts such as how generative AI tools work, what they can and cannot do, how they compare to past technologies, and core limitations like hallucination and repetitiveness. This project introduced me to learning experience design as a reflective, collaborative practice grounded in learning theory, shaped by the tools, technologies, and institutional factors available in practice, and attuned to the needs of diverse learners.
