Migration of Generative AI: Shaping Work and Tasks

This artifact documents my preparation of the Generative AI: Shaping Work and Tasks course for platform transfer by translating its Coursera content into a structured and editable Google Doc. I preserved all core elements—including video transcripts, instructional text, and learner activities—and wrote original video introductions to support clarity and learner orientation. The resulting document served as a collaborative design blueprint, enabling cross-team review and ensuring consistency during the migration to Canvas.

Core Competencies

  • Creating Design Resources and Project Documentation

I employed structured Google Docs as a bridge between platforms, using them as both design artifacts and tools for collaborative editing. These resources helped clarify course architecture across tools and supported shared decision-making throughout the replication process.

  • Using Knowledge of Technology Affordances and Constraints

This project required fluency in both Coursera and Canvas as design environments. I drew on this understanding to evaluate pacing, navigation, and content placement—helping preserve learner engagement and pedagogical integrity despite the platform shift.

This project helped me think more critically about how course design shifts when content moves between platforms. The goal was to adapt the material in ways that made sense for Canvas’s modular structure. I learned how platform affordances and constraints shape learner experience, and how reorganizing content—even without changing its core meaning—can impact navigation, clarity, and engagement. It also deepened my appreciation for the “in-between” stages of design work: translating content, managing documentation, and ensuring that foundational details like links, layout, and flow all support a cohesive learning experience in the new environment.
